2014: A YEAR OF TROUBLE  AND LESSONS


Experience is a real teacher. It gives me lessons . It teaches me something to improve my skills, or as person as a whole.

I failed for so many times. Sometimes I thought it is a bullshit life. But I am wrong. I become stronger from all those downfall. Let me tell you my failures and all those foolish but interesting experiences. 

I started the year by finding a job. It is normal as you know that there are employers who will reject your application. Worst, you prepared a lot but you failed. However, after three days of hunting a job, I got one. Patience is really a virtue. You will just try, try until you succeed.

Three months after, a big news hit me. I failed in the bar examination that I took last 2013. I felt humiliated by too many people who trusted me that I will become a lawyer. I grieved by what had happened. However three hours after, a huge fire burned a lot of houses, as in many houses. It became a big news throughout the city. When I passed by the exact location of the blaze, my heart bled as I saw the faces of people whose houses were gone.I thought I was alone grieving with what had happened. There were people whose houses were gone and aside from that there were also many lawyer-aspirants who flunk the bar. What I did? I went to a comedy bar with friends and laugh, laugh, laugh. We have some reasons to laugh. At least I have a chance to top the bar. After a day, early in the morning, the owner of the company where I worked met me and begged me to become a HR Head. See, there are still a lot of opportunities that will come after the pain.

Then, October came. A person who spent a million of money in my law study undergone a major surgery. It also found out that cancer cells started to spread in the body. I felt sad , broken and hurt. So, I have to spend time with him and take care of him. My plans ceased to be accomplished. However I feel happy cause he still fighting as for the moment.We spent Christmas and New Year with him which boost the feeling of happiness despite sadness.

This reminds me of happiness. We still have the right to smile on top of the problems we experienced. Just be patient and strong. Moreover just let go and let God!

PASSING THE BAR

You cannot take the Bar examination unless you finished the Four (4) year course of Bachelor of Laws or the Juris Doctor. THE CROSS

I wrote this chapter during Good Friday. My younger brother and I went to church at 3 PM and I was honestly amazed of the rituals or let us say the procedure of the liturgical celebration. It was my first time for my entire 27 years in this world to experience the said celebration. I was so shocked! Why? Because it was the first time that I attended a celebration where there was no entrance song. It started when everybody kneels. When the priests, the lay ministers, the psalmists, and the knights of the altar reached at the altar, they sat, then bent and kissed the floor for a minute or two. I also observed that the center of the celebration is the cross, giving respect with the cross as a symbol of our salvation.         I was reminded with the cross of our LORD.  Indeed the cross that was carried by Jesus Christ was too heavy.
