"BE AN ENABLER"

September 19, 2017. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources conducts a five (5)- day training for the newly hired lawyers in The  Heritage Hotel, Metro Manila.  The training aims to strengthen the capacities of the Department.    
Region VII sends eight (8) participants who actively and interestingly join the seminar-workshop and they are; Atty. Alexylle Rose Concepcion, Atty. Romeo Bulotano,  Jr., Atty. Maxim  Cadorna, Atty. Cesar  Pagapong, Jr., Atty. Gleen Maravilla, Atty.  Erwin Sano, Atty. MC Aldous Castanares, and headed by Atty. JC Ma. Rose Llido.

The program starts with the Department Secretary Roy Cimatu who at the same time motivates the participants to help him in implementing the different environmental laws. 

He encourages everyone to help the different PENROs and CENROs throughout the country. The Secretary exclaimed that as he traveled around the provinces of the Philippines he found out that the problem of the Department is the lack of lawyers. At the moment there are fifty (50) lawyers in the central office who are very busy attending the cases against and for the department. 

The solution according to him is to hire lawyers who will attend the cases at its instance before it will reach the central office.  The department has now  three hundred lawyers (300) and the secretary is very proud to have them. These lawyers will also give advice to the PENROs and  CENROs on legal matters within the shortest time as possible.

THE CROSS

I wrote this chapter during Good Friday. My younger brother and I went to church at 3 PM and I was honestly amazed of the rituals or let us say the procedure of the liturgical celebration. It was my first time for my entire 27 years in this world to experience the said celebration. I was so shocked! Why? Because it was the first time that I attended a celebration where there was no entrance song. It started when everybody kneels. When the priests, the lay ministers, the psalmists, and the knights of the altar reached at the altar, they sat, then bent and kissed the floor for a minute or two. I also observed that the center of the celebration is the cross, giving respect with the cross as a symbol of our salvation.         I was reminded with the cross of our LORD.  Indeed the cross that was carried by Jesus Christ was too heavy.
