TEACHING: PAINFUL GIFT!

Image
Alone in a very busy restaurant, a child’s smile caught my attention. In his innocent eyes, I see a bright future. As I was astonished, I binged on writing solutions to the recent social problem of today while waiting for my orders to be served. The Philippine government is now hammering out a bill which will later on becomes a law increasing the benefits of the teachers. However, many have raised their eyebrows as to when this would take effect. Teachers are basically molding the future leaders of the country. These teachers deserve the best benefits. However, contrary to everybody’s expectation, the leaders of today have been blinded with greediness. These leaders, although not all, only want power and wealth. Corruption becomes the malady of the government which is hard to heal. The leaders of this millennium becomes oblivious of the lesson that were taught by their teachers. The debacle that needs to be fought today is on how to educate the learners of the i...

KALANGGAMAN ISLAND: A NATURE'S REVELATION

Image
“Look deep into nature and then you will understand thing better” – Albert Einstein Appreciating the beauty of nature is so natural. However, some abuse the mother earth with no respect. Despite of the brutality, there are others who preserve the fascinating and outstanding look of nature. The Island I salute these people! The children yet unborn could still witness the nature’s revelation of simplicity yet alluring beauty. One of these nature’s revelation is considered as one of the most visited places in the Philippines--- Kalangaman Island located at Palompon, Leyte. I have been there for four times. If you are from Cebu City, you have many alternatives in going there. In my case, I only tried two alternatives. First alternative. From Cebu City you can ride a fast craft or a big boat. For the fast craft, you may choose Supercat or To Go and Oceanjet. For big boats you have two, Roble and Light Ferry. If you arrived Ormoc City, The City of Beautiful People, you can ride a p...

YEARS OF UPS AND DOWNS

Image
E xperience is a real teacher. It gives us lessons and teaches us something such as how to improve our skills, how to improve  our personality as a whole and etc. You have learned that I failed twice in the Bar examinations. Sometimes I thought it is a bullshit life! But I am wrong. I become stronger from all those disappointments. Let me tell you my failures and all those foolish but interesting experiences. After the 2013 bar examination, I started a new year by finding a job. It is normal as you know that there are employers who will reject your application. Worst, you prepared a lot but you failed. However, after three days of unceasing hunting a job, I got one. Patience is really a virtue. You will just try, try until you succeed.        Three months after, a big news hit me. I failed in the bar examination that I took last 2013. I felt humiliated by too many people who trusted me that I will become a lawyer. I grieved by what had happened. ...

D ecember is the most luxurious months for Filipinos. I can describe this month as a month of generosity. We love to receive gifts during this month from someone. TYPHOON RUBY; IT'S GOOD TO BE READY

Image
I would like to share my experience during  Typhoon Ruby Hagupit).  Hagupit (Ruby) made its first landfall at 9:15 p.m. Dec. 6, 2015 local time near Dolores in Eastern Samar, according to PAGASA, the Philippine national weather agency. At the time of landfall, Hagupit was the equivalent of a Category 3 storm on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, according to the U.S. military's Joint Typhoon Warning Center, with maximum sustained winds of about 125 (  http://www.weather.com/storms/typhoon). (Image from Google) Here is my experience. 13:47 PM. I was looking the sea and the view of Ormoc City. I was in the OSPA Hospital, a nice place viewing Ormoc City from the uphill. The hospital is located at the top of the hill. I felt the strong wind blowing the sea water and the branches of the trees. At the moment, there was no person staying outside the hospital. Everybody inside the hospital including the nurses, the assigned doctors and the staff were worried what ...
